ACCESSIBILITY
All men - with and without physical limitations - are welcome in the Metropol saunas. We see ourselves as a “safe space” for all gay men and are committed to acceptance in the gay community.
The two Metropol saunas are located in buildings that were built at a time when accessibility was not yet an issue. We were able to improve a lot as part of renovation work, but there is still a lot to do.
InFrankfurt All facilities are on one level and there are no stairs. There is a step with a ramp in front of the entrance door. For help opening the heavy entrance door, all you need to do is call (069 - 175 09 115).
An approx. 3 cm high threshold leads to the shower. The steam sauna can be reached via one step. The toilets are not wheelchair accessible.
InEat The sauna area is spread over three levels. Unfortunately, all floors - including the entrance area and the garden - can only be reached via stairs.
A renovation in Essen is planned in the long term. The ground floor toilet is accessible from the bar at ground level but is not wheelchair accessible.
